We’re back, and cheaper than ever. This year’s rendition of worldly phenomenon that is Cheap Beer Madness surely didn’t disappoint. Lost Lake, a freshman competitor to Cheap Beer Madness, took the crown this year. We ate, we drank, we attempted to boss the beer wenches around (with little-to-no success). This time around, we “live tweeted” the crap out of the tournament – a tradition that we will likely continue in years to come. Heck, we even had some interaction from last year’s champ, @BoxerLager, in the middle of the tourney.
While we were all too drunk to figure everything out exactly, a couple of highlights:
- Cheap Beer Madness 2012 Winner: LOST LAKE BEER!
- Baltika Grade 9 Extra Lager was our palette cleanser – mainly because it has the subtle hint of turpentine to it. Do not drink this beer. Ever. It comes in 51 oz bottles of badness. It tripled the amount of hair on my chest after just one glass. This was originally given as a host/hostess gift, but no bad beer is unwelcome at Cheap Beer Madness.

In upcoming years, we’re going to have to regulate the “coldness” of beers. We found out that some beers didn’t have a fair chance at winning since they were lukewarm at best. I’m convinced this is why Boxer Lager was defeated in the semi-finals – there’s always next year.
- Buffalo Chicken Dip and “Crack Bread” (warm bread covered in bacon bits, cheese and ranch dressing) are freaking fantastic.
